As the worlds of food, fashion and retail continue to revel in the concept of the pop-up store or event, it now seems that the world of art and design is slowly muscling in on the act. European artists Liddy Scheffknecht and Armin B. Wagner seem to be taking the pop-up idea literally with their latest project – a giant cardboard seating area that folds flat before, you guessed it, popping into 3-dimensional form.

How long, one wonders, before an enterprising furniture brand makes this witty and playful concept into an actual working model?
