Magical Mexico: Exploring The Treasures Of Yucatán.
Slide Nr 3
Learn About Yucatán’s “Green Gold” – In the late 19th century, the Yucatán region experienced a golden age of wealth and affluence due to the thriving henequen industry. Though the industry is now more or less defunct, the great haciendas of the henequen growers still attest to the region’s heyday; visit one of such plantations, like the beautiful Hacienda Sotuta de Peón, to learn about the history and cultivation of this once-vital fiber.
