What’s the most unusual thing you’ve covered?
A day camp for cats.

What website do you check first every day?
Twitter.com

How do you relax?
A bubble bath with a glass of wine and a magazine. Or a long walk!

Film or TV?
I love TV. Probably because I don’t have to leave the house to watch it.

Books or ebooks?
Books. Always books.

Wine or beer?
Wine!

Street food or fine dining?
Both! But not “street food-inspired fine dining” – please stop.

Favourite place?
Paris!

Your secret travel tip?
It might not be much of a secret, but make conversation with locals – cab drivers, bartenders, shopkeepers – as much as you can. And don’t be shy about asking them for tips on their favourite places.

Your three travel essentials?
My camera, a good book and my childhood stuffed dog, Woof.

Your essential luxury?
Manicures and pedicures. I consider getting my nails done more of an essential than a luxury, which may not be great.
